You’re ready for your first employee.  You start searching everywhere for a full time, “all in one” manager, sales rep, project manager, customer service agent, social media manager, graphic designer, errand runner… the list goes on…

And I get it.  You’re probably thinking that you can start with a small salary (maybe $35,000 a year) and get EVERYTHING you need in your business.

The problem is that in my 15+ years of managing hundreds of people I have never met a single person (including myself) that is highly skilled and able to keep consistent results in ALL areas at once.

But you can’t afford six $35,000 salaries - what do you do?

You build a team of contractors.

    • A few hours a month for an Operations Manager to keep things running

    • A few hours a week for a Customer Service expert to handle your inbox and calendar

    • Social Media and Copywriting from experts in buyer psychology and SEO as needed

You can get a team of EXPERTS for the same (or usually less) than what you would pay a single person to try to figure out how to do an “okay” job in all areas of your business.

Before I jump into the math I want to address the elephant in the room.

“Crystal, I am overwhelmed thinking about hiring ONE person.  Now you want me to train and manage 6 people?! Are you CRAZY?!”

I may be a little crazy because I would be the one managing all those people for you!  Whether we have 1 admin or a team of 50 experts working in your account your workload is always the same.  High level decision making, fielding technical industry questions and strategizing to grow your business.

Ok so now for the math…

    Traditional Employee

    • $35,000 Full Time Salary

    • $1,346 10 paid vacation days

    • $673 5 sick days

    • $11,105 Payroll Taxes & Fees

    • $3,000 Misc (data, equipment, recruiting, training etc..)

    • $51,124 Annual Budget

The Right Hand Admin (based on average 6 and 7 figure client spend)

    • $16,176 Operations Manager

    • $11,172 Administrative Assistant/Customer Service Agent/Junior PM

    • $27,348 Annual Budget

That means with a team of contractors, you not only save about $23,776 per year … but you also get a team of individuals each highly trained in their respective field of expertise!

If you want more details on what the numbers might look like for your business grab a time on my calendar.
